Roseen Giles completed a Bachelor of Music degree in performance at the University of Toronto, studying modern flute with Leslie Newman and
baroque flute with Alison Melville. She is the recipient of a number of scholarships and awards, and her graduate studies in musicology have been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Roseen has attended numerous early music workshops including Early Music Vancouver, studying with Wilbert Hazelzet, as well as Tafelmusik’s Baroque Summer Institute, with flautist Claire Guimond. Roseen is currently pursuing a PhD in musicology, studying the aesthetics of Claudio Monteverdi’s late madrigals.
